CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION: WHERE OUR HAPPINESS IS CELEBRATED

Image
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION: WHERE OUR HAPPINESS IS CELEBRATED ‎At its heart, the Christmas season is all about love, hope, and selflessness. It is, however, a time when people, despite the pretty lights, the presents, and the parties, are reminded of the importance of being nice and kind to each other. It is a time when people are more willing to open their hearts, love one another, and forgive one another. The truth is, Christmas offers all a chance to think about the significance of caring for others. ‎ ‎Christmas brings to light the fact that the giving spirit is the one that truly matters, not that of receiving. To give one’s blessings—whether it is through gifts, time, or just little deeds—are all in line with the very reason for the season. To give handouts to the needy, to be beside and talk to the lonely, and to give emotional support to the distressed is to show that Christmas is not about hoarding wealth but rather about sharing love and understanding. These love-giving...

Weaving Culture Into Our Future The Philippine National Indigenous People's Month is an important celebration that honors the rich culture, traditions, and identities of Indigenous Communities across the country. The theme "Weaving Culture, Enriching Future: Empowering Indigenous Communities as Bedrock of Sustainable Development" reminded me that our progress as a nation should not mean forgetting the people who have protected our culture and environment for generations. Indigenous people have traditionally lived in harmony with the land and accorded respect to the environment and the natural world. The ways in which they farm, craft, and take care of the environment demonstrate how human beings can indeed live in harmony with the earth. These traditions contain many lessons that may be relevant for solving today's environmental problems and achieving sustainable development. Other aspects of Indigenous peoples' empowerment involve protecting their rights, voice...

THE LIFE OF ELPIDIO QUIRINO

THE LIFE OF ELPIDIO QUIRINO Among the leaders who led the Philippines through a challenging and revolutionary time is President Elpidio Quirino. He was born on November 16, 1980 in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, and rose through the ranks via public service and education. His early years demonstrate his perseverance; in spite of his lack of prospects, he sought a career in law and eventually passed the bar. His strong sense of discipline, resiliency, and dedication to nation-building were all influenced by this foundation. Quirino started out in politics as an Ilocos Sur legislator before rising to the position of senator and, under Manuel Roxas, vice president. His stunning ascent to the presidency in 1948 came after Roxas's unexpected death. However, Quirino took over during a period of national rehabilitation, immediately following World War II, when the nation was grappling with destitution, devastation, and insurrection. Strength and patience were necessary for his leadership, particular...

Fighting For The Safety Of Every Child In The Age Of The Internet The theme “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!” reminds us that we need to protect the children from sexual abuse and exploitation. In today’s digital age, children are more connected to the internet than ever before, which allows them to learn and explore. However, it also exposes them to dangers such as grooming, cyberbullying, and exploitation that children are unaware of.   This theme is not only that the ending of exploitation is not just the responsibility of parents and teachers, but also the society, especially the government, to ensure that every child grows up in a safer environment, respected and free from exploitation. If the child is endangered, we must act immediately. The Philippine government has taken major actions to protect the children’s welfare through laws and programs. The Republic Act of 11930 is an example of how the state takes a stand agains...
